Alerts and monitoring

The daily monitoring check, the seven percentage rules it uses, how often it emails you, and how to turn it on for each ad account.

Monitoring is switched on per ad account. Every day, AuditRoger compares each monitored account's last 7 days with the 7 days before and emails you when a rule trips. It checks Google Ads accounts today (Meta Ads accounts too, once Meta Ads opens).

The rules

Each monitored account gets seven rules. Every rule is a percentage change, so it works the same in any currency, and every rule waits for enough clicks, impressions or conversions that a small number can't set it off.

  • Spend spike: spend up 50% or more, once the last 7 days have at least 100 clicks.
  • Spend drop: spend down 50% or more, when the 7 days before had at least 100 clicks. This catches paused or disapproved campaigns.
  • Cost per click rise: cost per click up 30% or more, when both weeks have at least 100 clicks.
  • Cost per conversion rise: cost per conversion up 40% or more, when both weeks have at least 10 conversions.
  • Conversion drop: conversions down 40% or more, when the 7 days before had at least 10.
  • Click-through rate drop: click-through rate down 30% or more, when both weeks have at least 1,000 impressions.
  • Return on ad spend drop: return on ad spend down 30% or more, when both weeks have at least 10 conversions and a conversion value.

How often you hear

  • Each rule alerts at most once every 7 days for an account, however long the change lasts.
  • Everything an account raises in one day's check arrives in one email that names the account.
  • An account with no impressions in either week sends nothing.

Turn it on

Alerts come with the Starter, Agency and Scale plans. In the Monitoring card on your Dashboard, switch monitoring on for each account you want checked, up to your plan's account limit. The first check runs at 08:00 UTC.

Each monitored account lists its seven rules there, each with its own switch, so you can turn off any you don't want. Only the workspace owner can change them.
